American Dream expected to be fully operational Tuesday after power outage problems

EAST RUTHERFORD (WABC) -- Power outages have been reported at the American Dream in New Jersey on Monday, officials said.

A localized power outage caused some areas of the center to be without power.

PSE&G said the outage was caused by an issue with equipment internal to American Dream's electrical system and is working to restore service.

American Dream expects power to be restored late Monday evening and be fully operational on Tuesday.

Most stores closed because they did not have power on Monday.

Only emergency lights were on inside, and the restaurants had to close.

"All guests were safely evacuated from park rides," a statement from the American Dream said.

The mall section was not officially closed or evacuated.
